No Sugar Added Strawberry Basil Popsicles
Ingredients
- 3 cups frozen strawberries
- ½ cup orange juice (or 2 medium, peeled oranges)
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice (or ¼ medium, peeled lemon)
- 2 tablespoons lime juice (or ¼ medium, peeled lime)
- 2 tablespoons fresh diced basil leaves
- Optional: zest of 1 orange, 1 lemon, and 1 lime
Storage: These popsicles will keep well in the freezer for several weeks.
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a medium pot over medium-high heat.
- Once the strawberries have defrosted, use a potato masher to crush them. (Note: If making the whole-food variation, remove the citrus membranes before blending.)
- Use a hand blender to blend the mixture until smooth.
- Allow the mixture to cool for 2 to 5 minutes before pouring it into popsicle molds.
- Secure the lids and place the molds in the freezer. Freeze for a minimum of 6 hours.
- To Serve: To easily remove the popsicles, either let the molds sit on the counter for a few minutes or run them under warm water. You may need to gently twist and wiggle the molds until the popsicles release.
