When you’re planning the moment you ask for forever, you want a setting that feels effortless, romantic, and natural. While fancy restaurant tables and crowded public parks have their place, hundreds of couples choose to pop the question right here at Mercier Orchards every year.
Spanning 300 acres of rolling hills, lush fruit rows, and sweeping mountain vistas, Mercier Orchards provides a timeless backdrop for the biggest moment of your life. If you’re ready to drop to one knee, here is everything you need to know to plan a seamless proposal at the farm.
Picture-Perfect Proposal Spots Across the Farm
- In the Midst of Spring Blossoms: Visit during spring when the orchard bursts into bloom. Walking down rows framed by delicate flowers creates an intimate, dreamy setting.
- The Scenic Peak on a Tractor Tour: Take a tractor-drawn wagon tour up to the higher elevations of the farm. At the peak, you’ll be treated to panoramic mountain views—a breathtaking spot to pop the question.
- Autumn Golden Hour: Late afternoon in the fall brings rich fruit on the trees, crisp mountain air, and soft, golden light streaming through the branches.
Essential Rules & Planning Tips for a Flawless Proposal
To make sure your proposal goes off without a hitch (and to keep the farm running smoothly for everyone), keep these key guidelines in mind:
1. Fill Out Our Proposal Coordination Form Ahead of Time
Before you arrive with the ring, you must complete the Proposal Form on our website. This lets our farm team know you will be on-site, allows us to verify your date, and ensures everything runs smoothly so your surprise stays a surprise.
2. Keep It Natural
The beauty of the orchard does all the work for you! To protect our crops, trees, and land—and to keep pathways clear for all guests, physical setups of any kind are not permitted on the orchard grounds. This includes blanket picnic setups, arches, chairs, marquee letters, candles, or heavy decor. We ask that all proposals stay simple, organic, and focused on the natural scenery.
3. Bring Your Photographer (And Tag Us!)
While decor setups aren’t permitted, photography is 100% allowed and encouraged! Whether you hire a professional photographer to hide in the rows or bring a friend along to snap photos from a distance, you’re welcome to document the moment you get down on one knee.
Please tag us in your engagement photos on social media! We absolutely love sharing our Mercier couples’ love stories with our community.
4. Plan for a Weekday Visit
If privacy is high on your priority list, consider planning your proposal for a weekday morning. The orchard grounds are much quieter, giving you a peaceful, intimate atmosphere.
5. Toast to Your “Yes!” Right on the Spot
