Food Production Team Member

All positions are customer service focused and require team members to be able to work on their feet for various periods of time. Mercier Orchards’ Food Production Team offers many opportunities ranging from cooks, restaurant server, dish washer, retail bakery counter, candy and bakery production; where we make breads, pies and cookies from scratch. We offer opportunities for advancement within all departments at Mercier Orchards’.
Mercier Orchards’ offers on the job training, as well ongoing training in many areas including food and workplace safety throughout the year.

Requirements:

  • Able to lift minimum of 25 pounds
  • Able to be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Able to enter freezers at times (zero and below)
  • Able to work in warm to hot environments

Winery Sales Associate

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • ALWAYS check ID before tasting/serving
  • Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of product line (Hard Cider & Wines)
  • Greet all Mercier Guests and provide exceptional service
    Enthusiastically educate customers about hard ciders and wines
  • Answer questions and/or promptly seek out a reliable source to secure answers
  • Conduct tastings and guide customers through the process
  • Handle routine sales transactions which include operating cash register
  • Assist with display and stocking of items
  • Maintain cleanliness of product and winery area
  • Help with special winery events on and off-site as needed
  • Represent winery at outside functions as needed

Qualifications:

  • Hard Cider and Wine experience and basic knowledge helpful

  • Answer questions and/or promptly seek out a reliable source to secure answers
  • When able, help guide customers through the process of selecting and purchasing produce
  • Assist with display and stocking of produce and produce-related product

  • Represent produce at all times wherever you go in Market

Tractor Driver

SUMMARY:
Responsible for operating a tractor for the purpose of taking customers to the orchard pulled by wagon

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.

  • Responsibilities include daily safety/function checks on tractors and wagons as well as fluids on the tractor.
  • Responsible for communication amongst coworkers via radio during transit through the orchards.
  • Responsible for ensuring first aid kits are on tractor before first ride out to orchard as well as the contents needed on the inside of the kits.
  • Report any issues prior to loading or shuttling customers to the orchards.
  • Secondary responsibility includes attaching wagon to tractor if that has not been completed. Upon the start of your shift, you must check to assure that it has been properly connected.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to operate tractors for many hours on any given day.

Market Cleaning Attendant

Duties & Responsibilities:  

  • Oversee the cleaning of store restrooms, breakrooms, offices, porch, and deck
  • Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of cleaning procedures  
  • Willing to train and learn to operate items, machinery, and tools used to maintain store organization and cleanliness
  • Manage cleaning responsibilities in a high-volume establishment
  • A willingness to properly learn cleaning responsibilities 
  • Some upkeep with cleaning inventory required 
  • Positive, helpful disposition
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs 
  • Assist with bagging as needed 
  • Maintain organized carts and working space

Cider Technician

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Work as a team to help produce juice beverages according to Mercier Orchards Standards
  • Work at a fast pace when required
  • Keep a clean production area according to Mercier Orchards Juice HACCP Standards
  • Report unsafe working conditions to immediate supervisors
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work in environments with hot and cold temperatures
  • Must be able to work weekends when necessary
  • Must dress appropriately for environment and with company standards 

Accountability:

  • Cleanliness of work area
  • Maintain a productive attitude
  • Report any accidents immediately to Leads, Supervisor or Safety Coordinator
  • Work with Management and Team Leaders to record production information when required by Juice HACCP

Quality Control

It is the responsibility of all Mercier Orchards Team members to provide the best quality produce, product and service to our customers and coworkers.

Orchard Worker

SUMMARY:
Will be responsible for all equipment work to maintain orchard.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.

  • Responsibilities include daily safety/function checks on all equipment and accessories
    along with an extensive check on all functions and fluids
  • Operating all equipment in a safe manner
  • Using appropriate equipment to finish the job
  • Reporting any damage or malfunction to supervisor
  • Staying in constant communication while in field
  • Working hours required to complete the job on hand
  • Ability to work with heavy pieces of equipment
  • Ability to make minor repairs

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED, or three months related experience and or training
  • Ability to read and comprehend chemical labels
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers,
    fractions and decimals
